The Pathfinder Community Library has been serving the citizens of Lake County and beyond since November of 1953. It was first established as an all volunteer endeavor: all books were donated, materials were contributed by local businesses, and space for the library (one room in a private home) was also donated. The first librarian worked without pay for several years. In April 1955, citizens voted to approve a millage to fund the library. It moved to its current home in 1970.
